Adding An Image In WordPress SideBar Using The Image Widget
The easiest way to add an image in WordPress sidebar is to use the default Image Widget. Let us start with that.
The process is described below.
Step 1
Acess your admin panel. On the right side of it, there is the dashboard. Go to Appearance >> Widgets page there like the image below.

After going to the widgets page you will see sidebars, now add the image widget to the sidebar like the image below.

Click on the Image widget and press “Add Widget”. After clicking the Add Widget button the sidebar section will look like something like the image below. There are some extra tiles.

Now give a title and upload the desired image you want to show and click “Save”. You can edit it or replace it from here later in future or may even delete it.

Now go back to your front page, you will see the image in the sidebar. It has appeared.

Adding An Image With A Text Field
This process is the same as the process given above.
- Simply add a text widget and click on the “Add Media” button.
- Upload an image, give an appropriate title and click “Save” button.

Finally, on the front page, the sidebar will look like the image below.

Note: When you chose an image always be careful it has a nice resolution, fits your frame and is light as much as possible either your website will become slow. And be extra sure it does not have any copyright problems. Either get your own or get free images.
